DVLA Swansea strike agaisnt cuts and privatisation

PCS defends jobs and services

There were some hardy PCS pickets out at Swansea's DVLA this morning, in sub-zero temperatures. They are striking against cuts, privatisation and the destruction of services.

Pictured is branch vice-chair Dave Warren.

Nationally the DVLA has lost hundreds of jobs with the closure of local offices. Also striking as part of PCS' day of action are coastguard staff; Swansea coastguard station is one of those selected for closure as part of government cuts which threaten lives with the loss of vital local knowledge.
