Hundreds lobby Senedd to defend Prince Philip's hospital
Thousands demand A&E stays in Llanelli
Over 500 people travelled from Carmarthenshire to protest at the Senedd against the threat of Hywel Dda Health Board to downgrade Prince Philip's hospital in Llanelli.
Working people in Llanelli are incensed that the health board even considered the closure of the Accident and Emergency department forcing emergency patients to travel to Swansea or Carmarthen.
There were a number of speakers from the Labour Party at the rally on the steps of the Senedd, but many protesters asked why it was that the Labour Welsh health minister had not come to meet the lobby. Socialist Party members called for the scrapping of the plans of Welsh Labour to downgrade hospitals including Prince Philip's.
